Coverage for this show is on a national level, with Rolling Stone and other big mags plugging it. This month's Your Flesh magazine features a Hess cover. After the opening will be a celebratory rok show with Tar from chicago and Craw. Admission is free if you were at the opening. Mail me for more info. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JAILHOUSE ROCK Both Joe and I from craw have been in jail within the last month. Joe was caught inside his place of recent eviction gathering some more of his belongings and I had some words with a vice cop at an attempted bust of a DIY rock show in cleveland. We both spent time in jail, joe getting his charges dropped and me facing a maximum $1000 fine and 6 months in jail. All for telling the cop in response to a rude remark after he UNcuffed me, "thats why people don't like you." He promptly yanked me back, against the wall, re-cuffed me and threw me down some stairs. Dec. 12 is my hearing. BTW, jail is fun if you scare your cellmates. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- REVIEWS I haven't done many reviews in the last few issues cause we've been on the road a lot, etc. (i.e. lazy) so heres a few ... CRASH WORSHIP Nov. 9 Funtjar's, Cleveland Absolutely one of the greatest bands ever, though not a "band" per se. Percussive walls of force, strange amplified noise, various members in the crowd with water, fireworks, wine, bonfires, whatever. An experience which must BE experienced. Naked dancing is a must. UNSANE, SEASON TO RISK, KARMA TO BURN Oct. 31 Grog Shop, Cleveland Karma to Burn opened, a crowd pleaser to most with their helmet/kyuss dance riffs, but way too boring and standard now for me, after seeing them about 20 times. they'll probably be big. Season To Risk debuted almost all new material and all I can say is holy shit. A huge difference from their first album and a million times more intense. although playing with a temporary drummer since chad left, they completely controlled the stage. The Unsane topped off this halloween night beautifully. They have become a machine built of all the unpleasantries and rage in the universe. played for over an hour and left everyone dead. see them touring with biohazard now. GOD BULLIES, TEN TONS OF HELL, DUVALBY BROS. Nov. 15 Grog Shop Duvalby Bros. are cleveland's next upcoming band. mostly straight songs done in the most convincing way possible. singer, buzz, is becoming much the stage presence. 7" coming out shortly on spaz action records. last show ever for ten tons of hell. they played two songs and then broke into the final riff from Into the Void by Black Sabbath and repeated it for 30 minutes. Cool. God Bullies bored me. I guess singers antics are old or maybe I'm old. whatever. not impressed. medium. New FUDGE TUNNEL album called the Complicated Futility of Ignorance is very good. standard Fudge Tunnel, which rocks hard, but after three albums and an ep of virtually the same stuff, it only gets above medium. CORROSION OF CONFORMITY's Deliverance is pretty cool. As always, a switch from their previous works, but this time it has more of a hard rock edge (Vs. their usual metal edge). some of the songs and Pepper Keenan's voice remind me of Lynyrd Skynyrd, which could be good or bad depending what kind of music phase you happen to be in right now. Check it out. MULE's If I Don't Six is great. buy it. CLEVELAND ORCHESTRA doing Varese's AMERIQUE. As many of you know, the Cleveland Orchestra of commonly refered to as the greatest orchestra around today, and believe it. Edgar Varese was a composer in the 20s and 30s and created some of the craziest music ever. A few craw members are highly influenced by his work. This recording shows off not only what insane music really sounds like, but what the best orchestra sounds like also. Probably a little weird for many alt-rockers, but oh well, you lose. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Johnnyg from athens, ga sent me out this. don't know where he got it but its pretty funny The Gift A young man wished to purchase a gift for his new sweetheart's birthday, and as they had not been dating very long, after very careful consideration, he decided a pair of gloves would strike the right note -- romantic, but not too personal. Accompanied by his sweetheart's younger sister, he went to Sears and bought a pair of white gloves. The younger sister purchased a pair of panties for herself. During the wrapping, the clerk mixed up the items and the sister got the gloves and the sweetheart got the panties. Without checking the contents of his package, he sealed the package and mailed it to his sweetheart along with this note: Darling: I chose these because I noticed that you are not in the habit of wearing any when we go out in the evening. If it had not been for your sister, I would have chosen the long ones with buttons, but she wears short ones that are easy to remove. These are a delicate shade, but the lady I bought them from showed me the pair she had been wearing for the past three weeks and they were hardly soiled. I had her try yours on for me and she looked really smart. I wish I was there to put them on you for the first time, as no doubt other hands will come in contact with them before I have a chance to see you again. When you take them off, remember to blow in them before putting them away as they will naturally be a little damp from wearing. Just think how many times I will kiss them during the coming year. I hope you will wear them for me on Friday night. All my love, P.S. The latest sytle is to wear them folded down with a little fur showing. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TOUR DATES MORSEL Dec. 1 Madison 6 Masula, MT 7 Seattle 8 Tacoma 9 Eugene 10 Boise 11 Chico, Ca 12 San Francisco 14 San Diego 15 LA 16 Lomg Beach 18 Mesa, Az 19 Albequerque 21 Houston 22 Austin JAKS Dec. 1 Chicago 2 Madison 3 Chicago 9 Muncie 15 DC CRAW and HAIRY PATT BAND will be touring heavily in Jan and Feb. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's something that I haven't done yet also - post the catalog.
